Muravera (Latin: Sarcapos) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cagliari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 45 km northeast of Cagliari in the Sarrabus traditional area.It is a centre of citrus production, as well as a tourist resort, including several fine beaches such as that of Costa Rei.
On the east coast of Sardinia at the mouth of the Flumendosa river lies the little town of Muravera. Countless megalithic monuments such as the aligned stones at Piscina Rei, the sacred well Funtana Coberta and the series of menhirs in the highland cork forest of Pranu Mutteddu bear testimony to the long history of this region. The landscapes here along the tributaries of the Sarrabus are extremely beautiful. Muravera is set in a landscape of hills and is bordered by large lagoons where pink flamingos and many other species of bird can often be seen. Citrus groves in the distance emanate a fresh scent that mingles with the salty aroma of the sea.
Muravera has a modern tourist infrastructure but luckily no large resort hotels. The visitors profit form the idyllic Costa Rei beaches which lie close at hand, whilst simultaniously enjoying the stunning landscape and prehistoric treasures of Muravera.
Those who love fine food have many treats in store for them in Muravera, among them seeing oyster breeding in action, visiting lovely orange groves and much more. Muravera is very famous for its citrus fruit orchards and the quality of its oranges. The Citrus Fruits Festival is held in April and attracts many tourists. Other culinary delights in the region include homemade bread, ravioli, cheese, wine and oil.

Fu soggetta a insediamenti Fenici e Punici.

20061021 6558...French-speaking cyclists above Jackson Hole

Moab's mountain-biking trails attract cyclists from all over the world. These men were speaking French. They are taking a break on a section of the Amasa Back Trail called "Cliffhanger." Just beyond the bikes is an afterlife-enabling drop of about 400 feet (122m) into a rincon named "Jackson Hole." Th goal of my hike was a mesa in Jackson Hole called "Jacson Butte," whose shadow is visible at far left. A rough trail descends a rocky gully to the Hole.

Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole, originally called Jackson's Hole, is a valley located in the west-central U.S. state of Wyoming. The name "hole" derives from language used by early trappers or mountain men, who primarily entered the valley from the north and east and had to descend along relatively steep slopes, giving the sensation of entering a hole. These low-lying valleys surrounded by mountains contain rivers and streams, were good habitat for beaver and other fur-bearing animals.
