Biloxi: Micio Innamorato

Biloxi: Micio Innamorato

Biloxi (my name for her) the barn cat often dropped in when I come out to visit Bodhi. She wanders in from the woods & stealthily races between the legs of the horses, lawn mowers, garden implements, & stacks of square-baled hay before catapaulting herself on top of the counter in the tack room. There she sits & meow for food & loving.

Because I grew up with terrible allergy problems, I never experienced life shared with cats---& until my time with Biloxi, I could not conceive of the joy & wonder of life with them.

Click on "All Sizes" for a better look.

20061021 6558...French-speaking cyclists above Jackson Hole

Moab's mountain-biking trails attract cyclists from all over the world. These men were speaking French. They are taking a break on a section of the Amasa Back Trail called "Cliffhanger." Just beyond the bikes is an afterlife-enabling drop of about 400 feet (122m) into a rincon named "Jackson Hole." Th goal of my hike was a mesa in Jackson Hole called "Jacson Butte," whose shadow is visible at far left. A rough trail descends a rocky gully to the Hole.

Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole, originally called Jackson's Hole, is a valley located in the west-central U.S. state of Wyoming. The name "hole" derives from language used by early trappers or mountain men, who primarily entered the valley from the north and east and had to descend along relatively steep slopes, giving the sensation of entering a hole. These low-lying valleys surrounded by mountains contain rivers and streams, were good habitat for beaver and other fur-bearing animals.
